その1910年のマッドマンのカタログの片隅には、怪しげな小さなインクポットがあった。耳を澄ますと心臓の鼓動が聞こえる。どうやらこの壺からは泉のようにインクが湧き出てくるらしい。19世紀に万年筆が発明されて、それをfountain penと命名したのは、泉のように長く使えるペンのことだったが、この商品にはbroody fountain inkwellと書いてある。ちょっとその説明文を読んでみる。「いつでもインクがたっぷり入った特製の心臓型の壺。真っ赤なインクと、どす黒いインクが湧き出ているので、すぐにペンで書くことができます。あなたはこの机上のかわいい置物をお気に召すでしょうし、また特別な贈り物にもぴったりです。耳をすますと、心臓の小さな音が聞こえてきます。それは血のインクが泉から湧き出ている証拠です。」

There was a doubtful small inkpot in the corner of the catalogue Madman 1910 and the small sound of  heartbeat from it when listen carefuly. Ink seems to spring out of this pot somehow or other like a spring. It was the pen which is usable for a long time like a spring that it is invented in the 19th century and named it fountain pen, but this product is named Broody fountain inkwell.
